The Rockingham Group® of insurance companies announced recently an offering that provides identity theft resolution services to all its Homeowner, Mobile Homeowner, Farmowner, and Dwelling Properties policyholders, at no additional cost.  This decisive move represents a significant effort by The Rockingham Group to better protect its policyholders from America’s fastest-growing crime.  To supply this new service, the company has partnered with Arizona-based Identity Theft 911®, the leading provider of identity theft resolution and educational services.

Recent identity theft statistics have shown a dramatic increase in the frequency and variation of the crime.  According to figures from the Privacy Rights Clearinghouse, over 100 million records have potentially been exposed to identity theft, due to security breaches, since February 2005.  Additionally, the Federal Trade Commission recently reported that identity theft was its number one consumer complaint for the seventh consecutive year.
